SEAN ROBINSON:
Human beings, humans,
So much everyday.
Inside my own room,
I wish I could stay.
Down the long hallway,
Heel, toe, to heal.
The oncoming eyes,
The looks that I’ll feel.
I don’t want your glances,
Keep your own stares.
Your critic and ridicule
Are too much to bare.
Block them out! It’s simple!
Flip out the cell.
Headphones work better,
If not just as well.
Walk on the streets,
Woman with flyers.
I don’t want your garbage,
This city of liars.
Back in my room now,
Anxious and sick.
The stress of relations
Can be such a bitch.

RYAN YOUNG:
For this project, I set out to depict sound visually using parallels between what we hear and what we see. The image below is just a photo I made (not in photoshop, but actually exposed the photo paper to light and developed it) colored over it in either highlighter or Sharpie, and put a piece of tracing paper over it to distort the image slightly. Feel free to post comments, questions, etc.
